GEO Optimization

Visibility in AI-generated answers

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is optimization that makes your business visible when people search for answers through generative AI tools such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or Perplexity.

Who it’s for

When it’s worth investing in GEO

  • You’re noticing that more and more people are finding answers not in the Google results list, but in AI-generated summaries (e.g., Google AI Overviews).
  • You want your business to be mentioned when people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or other generative AI tools about your field.
  • You have clearly structured expertise as content and want to adapt it so AI systems can understand and cite it.
  • You want to get ahead of the shift in search behavior before your competitors do.
What you get

What’s included in the GEO service

From content structure to ongoing monitoring across AI tools.

AI crawler access configuration

We check and fix robots.txt so GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended can access your content. Some sites block these crawlers by accident — which makes it physically impossible to appear in AI answers.

Content structure adaptation

We restructure content on an "answer-first" principle — the most important information moves to the top of the page. Research shows that more than half of AI answer citations are pulled from the first third of a page.

Structured data (schema.org)

We implement Organization, Service, FAQPage, and sameAs markup, which clearly tell AI systems who you are, what you offer, and which online profiles belong to you.

Factual consistency check

We align information about your business across your website, Google profile, and directories. AI systems compare multiple sources — conflicting data lowers the chance that your business gets used in an answer.

Question-driven content

We create content that answers the real questions your customers ask AI tools while choosing a service — not generic phrases, but specific questions at each stage of the buying journey.

AI visibility monitoring

Every month we test a fixed set of 30–50 real customer questions against ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini — and track how often, and in what context, you’re mentioned.

What we measure

Metrics you see in the report

There are no "rankings" in GEO the way there are in classic search, so we measure mention frequency across a fixed question set — we test the same set every month so the change is comparable.

  • How many answers from the fixed question set mention your business at all
  • How often you’re mentioned compared to competitors for the same queries
  • Whether the information about you in AI answers is factually correct
  • Which of your pages are cited as sources
  • Traffic from AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) based on GA4 data
  • AI crawler activity on your site — when we have access to server logs
What we’ll need from you

Your input — kept minimal

We handle the technical and content work ourselves. From you, we need access and accurate information about your business — that’s exactly what the AI systems will rely on.

  • Access to your content management system and, if possible, to robots.txt and server settings
  • Access to GA4 — so we can see traffic coming from AI tools
  • The questions your customers actually ask before choosing a service
  • Accurate facts about your business: services, service area, pricing, contact details — this is exactly what the AI will rely on when forming an answer

What to expect

An honest approach to results

GEO is a relatively new and rapidly changing field — generative AI tools select and update their sources according to their own algorithms, which aren’t known to us. So we can’t promise a specific mention or position in an AI answer. What we do, systematically, is increase the likelihood that your content is a clear, structured, and trustworthy source that AI systems can use. We track and report on results every month, adjusting strategy based on what’s actually working.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does GEO optimization cost?

Pricing starts from €500/mo. The final amount depends on your content scope and current situation — we discuss it in detail after a free consultation. The minimum commitment is 3 months.

What is GEO, and how is it different from SEO?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is optimization for visibility in AI-generated answers, such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or Perplexity. SEO focuses on the classic search results list, while GEO focuses on how AI systems summarize and cite information. These areas complement each other and often rely on the same technical foundation.

Can you guarantee that an AI system will mention my business?

No — GEO is still an actively evolving field, and generative AI algorithms belong to third parties and change constantly. We can’t guarantee a specific mention, but we help increase the likelihood that your content will be a clear, reliable source that AI systems understand and trust.

Do I need a separate website for GEO?

No, GEO is usually implemented on your existing website by adapting its content structure and technical elements. We only recommend a new website if the current one is technically outdated.

How long does it take to see changes?

Since generative AI tools update their sources at different rates, changes can appear inconsistently — anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. We monitor and report on the situation regularly.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

Not at the moment, and we don’t recommend paying for one. llms.txt is a proposed standard, but neither OpenAI, Anthropic, nor Google has committed to reading it, and server-log research shows that AI crawlers essentially never request it — they simply crawl standard HTML. What actually works is different: robots.txt access for AI crawlers, clear content structure, and structured data. If the situation changes, adding the file takes minutes.

How will I know it’s working?

Every month we test the same fixed question set and report how many answers mention you, how you compare to competitors, and which pages are cited. You can verify the results yourself — just ask ChatGPT or Perplexity the same questions.

Which AI tools do you track visibility in?

By default — ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini. If customers in your field use a different tool, we add it to the tracked list.
